What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a complete medical system that is used to diagnose and treat illness, prevent disease and improve well-being. It is effective for physical, psychological and emotional problems. Acupuncture originated in China more than 2500 years ago and, due to its proven effectiveness has been embraced throughout the world.

Acupuncture is part of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which includes herbal medicine, exercise, massage and diet. It is based on a history, approach, philosophy, sociology and treatment methods that are very different from that of the West.

Treatment with acupuncture can include Gastrointestinal Disorders, such as food allergies, peptic ulcer, chronic diarrhea, constipation, indigestion, gastrointestinal weakness, anorexia and gastritis.

Urogenital Disorders, including stress incontinence, urinary tract infections, and sexual dysfunction.
Gynecological Disorders, such as irregular, heavy or painful menstruation, infertility in women and men, and premenstrual syndrome (PMS)
Respiratory Disorders, such as emphysema, sinusitis, asthma, allergies and bronchitis.
Disorders of the Bones-Muscles-Joints and Nervous System, such as arthritis, migraine headaches, neuralgia, insomnia, dizziness and low back, neck and shoulder pain.
